I have experimented with various original tunings that other musicians have never used, as well as other popular known tunings used by various guitarists.
I.) Bye-Bye, (Baby Bye-Bye). I raise my sixth low E string up to a G. I had to learn new chord finger placements to reach an inverted sound to my guitar.
2.) Wheel-Chair Watchin. This Rock, Blues, Soul Song uses a standard guitar tuning.
3.) Ole-Fashion Love (Under The Sun). This inverted tuning is so weird, that I've forgotten it once I recorded it. Yep, THE LOST CHORD! lol However, I could re-figure it out.
4.) Lady Grand-Times' Stain. This tune also uses a standard guitar tuning.
5.) Floating, (An Instrumental). I tuned the standard tuning into an E Chord tuning. Many guitarists use tis tuning, especially for blues songs accompanied with a slide bar.
6.) Today Music, Tomorrow The World. ( A tribute to the 9/11 victims and their families). At 4 minutes 2 seconds into this song, there is a very psychological message, that will probably affect you, the listener into a grave reminiscence!
7.)Where's She At? I use a standard guitar tuning, for this song about a woman, out there in that concrete jungle, with that "monkey on her back!
8.) The Lion & The Unicorn. A standard tuning, once more.
So, my friends, I hope you will enjoy my songs. All of the lyrics in these tunes were inspired by my own past life events, some good, some bad, some ugly.
THANK YOU MUCH,
Robert E. Sturgill.
